i.d.mii international, inc. is NOT an ordinary medical ID alert company, we are a mission of hope specifically created and designed for those of us who need more than 3 lines of text on an emergency alert tag to adequately convey our medical information in the event of an emergency.
We are dedicated to preserving the lives of the 350 million people worldwide living with one of the 7,000 Rare Genetic Diseases, that few clinicians have ever heard of. In addition to the 100 million people in the United States alone, that are living with a chronic illness, but show no outward symptoms of disease. We are committed to assisting the 100,000 men, women and children, that have an anaphylaxis reaction every year, and to the nearly 10 million children with developmental disorders who may not be able to accurately communicate their medical history.
More over, we exist for the 98,000 Americans that will lose their lives, this year alone, from preventable medical mistakes, due in part to emergency responders and medical staff being unaware of their life saving information.
As a congenital heart patient (D-TGA) I have always been familiar with medical alert i.d. bracelets, but it wasn’t until I had an ICD implanted that my doctor insisted that I get one. It did not take much searching for me to realize that I had a potentially deadly problem. There wasn’t any way in the world that I was going to be able to get all of my “most important” medical information on a 2″ X 1″ tag! I knew that I couldn’t be the only person in the world with a complicated and lengthy medical history, so I came up with an idea that would address the two most critical aspects of emergency medicine for those of us with chronic illness, rare genetic diseases or severe allergies. Ignorance of medical conditions and their associated contraindications and the swiftness of appropriate care, can make the difference between life and death for me and many other people like me. I consider it an honor and a privilege to be a part of i.d.mii international, inc. I would like to thank my mother, partner and life long care giver (Audrey Holmes) because without her this company would not have ever made it to fruition.
Having Rheumatoid Arthritis, Fibromyalgia and Thyroid issues is something I battle every day but it does not define me. I am a mother of a daughter who has a congenital heart defect, a grandmother of two brilliant and opinionated grandsons, and a wife to a very understanding and giving man. These are the things that I would say are my greatest accomplishments. I have been a hairdresser for 30 years, enjoy making jewelry, being an amateur photographer and creating pottery. Being creative allows me the outlet I need to relieve stress and to keep a positive mindset on life.
When my daughter approached me with her original idea for i.d.mii I was ecstatic and thought it was an extraordinary idea but could not believe it had not been implemented already. So i.d.mii was born. We are very passionate about this company being able to prevent medical mistakes during emergencies by having personal medical information available on line when needed. My daughter and I are honored to have the chance to bring the possibilities and opportunities of this new company to the world.
I am blessed with health and hope. I’ve been an experienced leader with a history of working in both for-profit and non-profit organizational management. I enjoy marketing, team building, financial management, and development. In my life, I’ve known dozens of people who have had critical illnesses or debilitating accidents who, despite tremendous odds and with great courage, have pursued all that life could give them. When I met Natalie Lester, I was drawn into her story and how this company could give people newfound hope. When the Board of Directors invited me to join this journey, I was excited about serving with i.d.mii international to get their unique information… to just the right people… at just the right time. I believe no one understands the value of a day more than the people who give us the opportunity to serve them. It’s an honor to leverage my skills and experience to help lead this quest to bring the hope of more days to these friends.
